Romans 6:4, Choosing to Live in Freedom

Romans 6:4, Choosing to Live in Freedom. Believers are encouraged to reject the slavery mindset and accept the freedom of grace offered through Jesus.

Mark 10:33, Service to Others

See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death and deliver him over to the Gentiles.

In this passage from Mark's Gospel, Jesus and His disciples are going up to Jerusalem. Along the way He tells them plainly what waits for Him there, and He keeps walking toward it.

Mark 7:36, Message Over Miracles

And Jesus charged them to tell no one. But the more he charged them, the more zealously they proclaimed it.

Spiritual warfare against Jesus is evident in this verse. The enemy was drowning out Jesus' message by highlighting His miracles. Contextually, this portion of Mark's Gospel shows Jesus bringing His message of salvation.

John 1:12, Children of God

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

The opening chapter of John's Gospel famously introduces Jesus as the Word. We see in verse 12 the promise of becoming children of God if we receive and believe.

Mark 1:38, What Jesus Preached

Let us go on to the neighboring villages, so that I may preach there too. This is why I have come.

In this passage of Mark's Gospel, Jesus tells His disciples His purpose for taking on flesh. His statement comes early in His ministry, and it sets the direction for everything that follows.

Mark 4:40, Faith Overcomes Fear

Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?

Mark chapter 4 opens with the preeminent parable of the Sower. Jesus uses the parable to teach the very large crowd and then tells His disciples what the parable means.
