Our commitment
Discipled Warriors wants every visitor to be able to read the teaching, understand the program and reach the ministry. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
What has been done
Accessibility was built into this site rather than added afterwards.
- Motion is fully honored for prefers-reduced-motion, and all content remains visible with animation switched off
- The main headline and above-the-fold copy render without JavaScript
- Semantic headings in order, with one h1 per page, so screen readers can navigate structure
- A skip to content link as the first focusable element on every page
- Visible gold focus outlines on every interactive element
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images, and decorative images hidden from assistive technology
- Text and background colours chosen for contrast against the dark theme
- Full keyboard operability, including the navigation menu
- Responsive layouts that reflow rather than requiring horizontal scrolling
Known limitations
Some photography carried over from the previous site is lower resolution than we would like. The ministry is working on replacing it with new photography, which will also improve the descriptions attached to it.
Full blog post bodies are still being migrated from the previous website. Until that is complete, some posts show a summary and a route to contact the ministry directly.
